On June 29, 2025, the German-American Society of Celle celebrated its annual “American Day.” As always, the club’s open house was “free and outdoors” and it took place in the courtyard of the Museum Café. The afternoon was accompanied by Jo Albers and his son Florian, who contributed authentic American music to the event. Once again this year the DAG was generously supported by Baxmann’s Patisserie. At around 2:30 p.m., Rolf Baxmann, accompanied by his wife Daniele, personally delivered his traditional  “American Cake.” The theme this year: BEACH BOYS – Here Comes the Sun.

In the spirit of this lighthearted motto and with perfect weather, around 120 guests enjoyed a wonderful afternoon, chatting about both political and non-political topics related to the USA. If anyone left a little disappointed, it might have been because they didn’t win a grand prize in the raffle — but thanks to a well-stocked box of goodies, no one went home empty-handed.

A big thank you from the DAG goes to Baxmann Patisserie for continuing the tradition of the eye-catching American Cake.

Our heartfelt thanks go especially to Marvin Sarb, who, as the new leaseholder, immediately agreed to co-host the American Day with the DAG at the Museum Café, provide American snacks, and generously support the raffle.

We also extend our sincere thanks to his team, who graciously kept up the flow of food and drinks to guests in the ever-crowded courtyard – at times, a real challenge!
