American Day 2026 – A Successful Independence Day Celebration

On July 4, 2026, the German-American Society of Celle celebrated its traditional American Day at Café KräuThaer in Celle. This year, the event took place on the very day of the American Independence Day and also marked a special anniversary: the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the United States Declaration of Independence. Around 60 guests took the opportunity to spend an enjoyable afternoon in a warm German-American atmosphere.

Over coffee, cake, and lively conversation, the focus was on the friendship between Germany and the United States. Members of the Society, longtime friends of the organization, and many interested visitors came together to celebrate Independence Day and exchange ideas about American culture, history, and the sister-city partnership between Celle and Tulsa.

A special highlight of the afternoon was the large raffle featuring many attractive prizes. Thanks to the generous support of numerous sponsors, the lucky winners received wonderful prizes. The raffle created plenty of excitement and good cheer and once again proved to be one of the most popular parts of the program.

Another major attraction was the impressive themed cake created by Rolf Baxmann of Baxmann Confectionery & Chocolaterie. Beautifully designed to commemorate the occasion, the cake drew great admiration from the guests. Following the ceremonial cake cutting, it was shared and enjoyed by everyone, adding to the festive atmosphere.
