On November 27th, the fourth Thursday in November, our traditional Thanksgiving dinner was held at Hof Wietfeldt. Twenty-four people met in the Neue Diele salon at 6:00 p.m. and spent an enjoyable evening together. In his welcome speech, Jannis Timm presented, among other things, ideas and projects for the coming years of the association. After the soup, Linda Engelhardt entertained those present with an engaging lecture and surprising insights into the origins (and myths) of Thanksgiving. We now know what the classic “turkey” had to do with the first Thanksgiving (namely nothing at all!).  Fortunately, some traditions do evolve!

Finally, the stuffed turkeys were carved, and everyone could eat their fill at the plentiful buffet. A heartfelt thank-you once again goes to the Wietfeldt family and their team for their warm hospitality and delicious catering.

So once again this year, it was a very successful event. We look forward to next year’s Thanksgiving with all of you!
