The first recorded public protest on the North American continent was the “Boston Tea Party” in 1773. The most recent have included “Hands Off” on April 5th, 2025 and the on-going rallies of such organizations as #50501. Protest is (or at least has been) an accepted form of public expression in the USA. What makes it work? Why doesn’t it always work?
